New Directorate General Human Resources, Budget and Organisation

In order to further enhance internal efficiency and effectiveness, the Executive Board of the European Central Bank (ECB) has decided to merge the Directorate Human Resources – so far part of the Directorate General Administration – and the Directorate Planning and Controlling into a new Directorate General Human Resources, Budget and Organisation.

Koenraad de Geest, Director Planning and Controlling, and Berend van Baak, Director Human Resources, have been appointed as Director General and Deputy Director General, respectively, of the new department, with effect from 1 July 2005. The Directorates Human Resources and Planning and Controlling will be abolished on the same day. Gerald Grisse will remain Director General Administration.
